When starting a research project that depends on software, it is often important to assess the quality of that software, that it is sufficiently supported and easily installable, etc. The Netherlands eScience center has developed guidelines for Software Management Plans (SMPs) that aim to answer such questions. We have created a software management plan for vantage6 and hope that it may help you to learn about our development practices and clarify our policies around user support.
